Want to anticipate the future? You can’t. The future is yesterday. – SCN Encourager

At least that’s what marketing expert Joel Comm says.

He gave a 5 minute “ignite talk” 36 hours ago.

His title: The Future is Yesterday.

At the #NewWaytoEngage conference sponsored by IBM at the San Diego Zoo, Comm presented 20 examples of awesome marketing in action.

Here ’tis!

You’ll be among the first to view it.

In Comm’s collection of 20 examples, I spotted 6 that are easily applicable for schools.

You’ll probably spot about 10 others.

Show off!

I just zeroed in on the “easily applicable” ones.

I didn’t want to work up a sweat –

given that it’s summer time and all.

Screen Shot 2015-07-07 at 7.45.32 PMI’ve always enjoyed Joel Comm’s perspectives.

In fact, I shared his tips for how to give an effective “elevator pitch” back in March, 2014.

If you dare to check out it out, you won’t be surprised to discover I connected his elevator pitch pointers to the first pitch at the Tigers first game of the 2014 season.

Sorry to be so predictable.

Maybe someday I’ll run out of sport references.

But, don’t get your hopes up.

I may need to brush up on this anticipating the future stuff, though.

Clearly, as evidenced by my emails to you, my yesterdays are my todays.

Ouch.

Not a heckuva lot of difference.
