Shopify is a company that helps entrepreneurs create online e-commerce websites.
It’s got an impressive track record of growth and the CEO says this growth is fueled by regularly adding new people to the team.
He contends it’s one of the best ways to weave new ideas, new perspectives, and new solutions into your operations.
There’s obviously tremendous value in making the right strategic hire.
But before you can pull that off, though, you must attract candidates who can jump on board quickly.
This “come join us” video by Shopify is nearly three years old.
Of course, you wouldn’t be wrong to assume I would’ve overlooked it entirely if it wasn’t still serving as a model of what an effective “jobs recruitment” video can look like.
Luckily, I can spot something good when it pops up right in front of me!
Shopify’s video is creative.
And has the discipline to never stray off message.
It captures perfectly Shopify’s unique organizational culture in a way that’ll cause prospects to either be interested in working for them or just take a pass.
Not every video can also efficiently play the role of gatekeeper.
I hope it provides you a “do-able” template for one of your upcoming school PR projects.
