Who said six second videos are too long? – SCN Encourager 4/23/2014

I didn’t think anything shorter was possible.

Or even desirable.

But you may want to check out these two apps sometime.

Both offer a uniquely quick way to capture your life… your experiences… and your school.

Screen Shot 2014-04-22 at 8.32.03 PMThe first app is 1 Second Everyday.

It allows you to connect a series of still photos and one second video bursts all together and create a fascinating longer video.

The link above will take you to several examples… and the second one on the scrolldown features this cutie.

It will show you what can be done if you can spare one second everyday to take a photo on your smartphone.

Of course, you have to remember to actually “do it” and that’s always the rub for me.

The second app is called Flipagram.

Screen Shot 2014-04-22 at 8.36.27 PMIt sort of does the same thing as “1 Second Everyday” but with a few more creative wrinkles.

You can add music and captions…and squeeze in a surprise or two.

You think I’m kidding?  Au contraire!
(I got a D in high school French and I’ve been dying to use this phrase forever! Merci mon ami.)

I think you’ll enjoy the Flipagram example of the video featuring this little girl.

You may have to scroll down four or five rows to find her on Flipagram’s “display” page.

The video’s a bit different… but I think you’ll be intrigued.

In fact, I found it so inspiring that I asked my superintendent if he wanted me to rush to one of our schools and start gearing up production for a one second video.

He said he’d approve any project that would get an honest day’s work out of me.

Ouch, that sure stung.

Plus, it forced me to pull tomorrow’s Encourager entitled “Dedicate your month of May to creating an awesome one second video.”
