Good news! Seth Godin’s got your back.
OK. I’m not in Seth Godin’s league. Most of what I write probably makes you shake your head – while much of what he writes makes you want to stand up and cheer.
In his Tuesday blog, Godin describes a recent meeting he attended where a community college leader talked about how her institution had to accept everyone, including a fair number of “those people.”
Holy cow did this phrase ignite a firestorm! Godin lit up his blog yesterday in a way that I’m sure jells with many of your core beliefs about education … and why you do what you do. You’ve got to read it. (er…please read this, I mean. Got a little carried away there. Sorry.)
Seth Godin’s audience is not made up of educators and school leaders. He’s one of the premier marketing minds out there with a readership in the thousands. I don’t know why, but it feels great to know he believes in our “every child can learn” vision. Plus – he’s preaching to a whole different choir than what we usually do.
I especially liked Godin’s second to the last paragraph. It’s given me hope to keep sending out these daily Encouragers. He wrote that “everyone can be inspiring … at least once.”
So when this “once” happens in my case, you’ll be the first to know!
